I successfully installed and rebooted Ubuntu 10.04 on the machine in
question. Soon after, this rather old computer broke down however so I
am not sure if I ever tried to boot it from a powered off state. If no
one else with similar hardware is experiencing this problem I think we

Unfortunately I cannot run apport-collect on 9.10 as I currently run
9.04 (which uses the entire harddrive). Let me know if you want some

Actually, it happens every time after it happens the first time - I
tried to reboot about ten times after the first failure with no success.

Anyway, this doesn't look like an xfce issue, so setting it as Critical
for xubuntu-meta won't help this issue being fixed... Maybe this should
be reassigned to xserver-xorg, or something else.
