I am using Ubuntu 9.10 with the latest stable kernel available for it (don't know the exact number). Also, I have installed the ATI driver, and VirtualBox. I have the same problem, while copying is fast (60 MB/second), the system becomes very sluggish. I have an Intel i5 with four cores, and

Hello. I've tried with the latest kernel for karmic (2.6.34-020634rc2) and the problem still happening. But it only happens on my Kubuntu 9.10 upgraded from 9.04, as I had mentioned in the report. The problem does not happen with a clean installation of Kubuntu 9.10 or 10.04 in the same machine
