Thank you for the update! I'm happy to hear things are working for you

If you're trying to find hidden files (those starting with .) in the
Nautilus file browser, then you can do a Ctrl-h or go to the View menu
and select Show Hidden Files.

Ubuntuone looks as though it is going to be very useful, I've installed it
on Mint as well and it works great between the two systems.

I'm sorry to hear Ubuntu One isn't working properly for you.
Fortunately, I think there is a workaround for this problem as I believe
it's related to bug 455544 which occurs when the bandwidth preferences

I'm still just feeling my way with Ubuntu Linux and I couldn't find the file
that you referenced so I tried changing the default settings for bandwidth and
then restarted.
Happy to say that Ubuntuone connected immediately and syncronised my files
without any problem.
