The report may not be precise enough : what happens is that when I launch first gnome-terminal, for instance, metacity decorations are fine, I can move the window, but it is empty : white and grey background (grey on the menu position) without any text, for about 10s. Then if I switch between

Ok, here is what I have done since removing scim-related packages, and conclusions : 1/ Reinstalled scim packages and launched scim from a terminal : seemed to work. 2/ Set GTK_IM_MODULE to scim-bridge in /etc/X11/xinit/xinput.d/scim then restarted the gnome session : seemed to work. 3/
