This seems to be pretty much the same as the bug I reported ID 568813, in my case I purchased the 10 DVD set from an authorised seller linked from the Ubuntu site for £23. Everyone else who has paid money for DVD sets is going to find them pretty much unuseable. I agree with Sensiva that this

I really appreciate your consideration. I would like to tell you that this issue is critical in zones where high speed Internet connection isn't an option. Before Karmic we used to burn those DVDs after building them, now Karmic users have to copy the whole repos in the hard drive (about 50GB of
