I think that the problem is in the kernel, so I think if you install a newer kernel you will have this problem fixed.. But upgrade the kernel to the 2.6.34 isn't the best solution... I will wait one week if will be a fix in the proposed-updates or ppa, if not I will update the kernel to 2.6.34..
