I know that the timezone dialogue is attempting a point and click
approach to simply the timezone selection. But, it is actually worse
than the former method of selecting the timezone name from a drop-down

(somehow) of having UTC in the RTC (hardware clock or BIOS)

During Ubuntu 6.10 installer, the zoom function of timezone selection is
extremery slow. It takes ~15 seconds to zoom from world to Europe.
HP NX9420 laptop, 1600x1000 screen, but non-native resolution.
