Ok I have installed the PPA and the last driver but still no change.
I send you my alsamixer screenshot.
Shouldn't I be supposed to be allowed to choose between external mic and
internal mic in alsamixer ?

Generally mic selection is done by sensing whether there is a jack
present for mic.

I discovered today that plugging the hearphone in the mic entry is
enabling the front mic, still very low and noisy but a least it works.
And if I plugg an external mic, I have some reverb while recording.

I did have created a separate ALC268.conf file in modprobe.d directory to avoid
corrupting the alsa-base.conf.
For now, every model declared is considered as a comment to stay on a base
configuration. At each new alsa-driver release I can check easily if I can
record with anyone of this model
Well I did remove my alc268.conf file and some stuff added in modules but
nothing change.
I gtg but I will add tomorrow some screen shot of my alsamixer.

Right, either remove your alc268.conf, or comment all entries out in
that file.
Can you reproduce the symptom using linux-alsa-driver-modules-$(uname
-r) from ppa:ubuntu-audio-dev?
