Accepted psimedia into lucid-proposed, the package will build now and be
available in a few hours. Please test and give feedback here. See
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Testing/EnableProposed for documentation how to
enable and use -proposed. Thank you in advance!

doesn't change anything in the source package.

I would like to propose a Lucid SRU for this bug. Since the current
build of psimedia makes psi (as well as psi-plus) crash when trying to

Yes, based on some quick testing a rebuild does seem to do the trick.
For now, there are newly built psimedia packages availible from my PPA.
https://launchpad.net/~andol/+archive/ppa/+files/psimedia_1.0.3-3build1~andol_i386.deb
https://launchpad.net/~andol/+archive/ppa/+files/psimedia_1.0.3-3bui
Can confirm this issue both on i386 and on amd64.

Reassigning to psimedia, it being the package which
/usr/lib/psi/plugins/libgstprovider.so belongs to.
If nothing else, this will be a good excuse to take a closer look at Psi
voice chat.
