Same symptoms. Ran sudo checkbox-gtk from the Alt-F2 window, checked
the 'run from terminal', I gave it my su password, it said welcome to
System Testing and the 'gathering information from your system' box has
the bar running side to side. Now the program won't quit. I'll upload
my apport
I have this problem too. It happened to me when i started System
Testing, chose next and i was prompted for the password but i
accidently chose cancel on the password dialog. After that, the progress
bar kept going back and forth forever.
