SimonI also recently upgraded to 10.04, running a DELL, Precision M6400. I
urgently need to find a USB headset/mic. Can you

Sorry to say, I made sure the headphones worked on u-know-what O/S.
Just trinary problem reduction.
I upgraded to 10.04 but still can't get there from here. I CLI'ed the
System-preferences-default sound card and got:
~$ /usr/bin/asoundconf-gtk
sh: /usr/bin/asoundconf: not found
You need to make

Additional Info. The headphones and mic work fine, I tried them on
another machine. ;)

you tried using linux-alsa-driver-modules-$(uname -r) from
ppa:ubuntu-audio-dev?
