The azureus 2.5.0.0-1 package from debian/unstable depends and build- depends on libswt-gtk-3.2-java, while edgy only has libswt3.1-gtk-java. I wonder if it's possible to upload the newer version of Eclipse since Universe freeze. I'll see whether it's possible to compile and run Azureus with

That is a hard dependency; there are 11 build errors without SWT 3.2. Eclipse 3.2 may or may not make it in, and even if it does I still have 16 unresolved build errors in the plugins with SWT 3.2 -- Please update to new azureus 2.5.0.0 https://launchpad.net/bugs/57336 -- ubuntu-bugs

For some reason, libswt3.1-java installs swt.jar in /usr/lib/java instead of /usr/share/java. Editing the makefile to make the change gets rid of all the unable to import org.eclipse errors and only 8 unresolved method errors are left. (SWT.PaintItem, etc.) The Debian package azureus-2.5.0.0-1

I see what you mean. swt-gtk-3.2-2 doesn't build on Edgy, even though all its build-deps are satisfied. The errors occur in the last stage, when the JARs are compiled into native code, and involve a precision-losing cast. The native code isn't really required for Azureus, but it would involve

This mess is deeper than I thought. Because problems with casts smack of word-size bugs, I tried building swt-gtk in a 32-bit pbuilder environment, which works fine. Some more investigation turned up Debian bugs #354358 and #361430, which indicate that because of various problems involving Java

It is now :). I'm interested in backporting this to Dapper, too, as it resolves the can't-click-the-popup-bubble bug. ** Changed in: azureus (Ubuntu) Status: Unconfirmed = Confirmed -- Please update to new azureus 2.5.0.0 https://launchpad.net/bugs/57336 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list
