On an Debian system i Se same error.
doing
rmmod -v ehci_hcd ; modprobe -v ehci_hcd
(note if using usb keyborad do this as a oneliner)
it also solves the problem reported by Chojin

One doesn't need to kill every hald-addon-storage in the system, just
that is stalled:

Setting the linux task to New so that this remains open against the
actively developed kernel. The 2.6.17 kernel from Edgy reached it's end
of life a while ago so marking that to Won't Fix. Thanks.
