regarding this being fixed with an update. For future reference you can
manage the status of your own bugs by clicking on the current status in
the yellow
The most recent updates seem to have resolved this issue for me. My
discs are mounting normally again.

Upon upgrading from 9.10 to 10.04, CDs or DVDs of any kind fail to
mount. Double-clicking the associated drive icon under 'Computer'
produces no result. Attempts
Okay, I burned a copy of the latest 10.10 ISO and ran it as a live CD.
While operating under that environment, I was able to insert a CD into
my secondary CD/DVD drive and have it recognized perfectly. I could
play music off the CD, and it worked just like it should. Ejected and
re-inserted the
kernel or driver problem, let's reassigned to linux where it can be
triaged, thanks.

Please be sure to confirm this issue exists with the latest development release
of Ubuntu. ISO CD images are available from
http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/daily-live/current/ . If the issue remains, please
run the following command from a Terminal
(Applications-Accessories-Terminal). It
what does dmesg said about the mounting process? could you try to mount
it and attach that log to the report? thanks.

I haven't used dmesg before, so hopefully this is what you're looking
for. I attempted to mount from the command prompt, got the usual error,
and then typed 'dmesg'. This was the output.
