I suffer the same problem since I upgraded to Edgy. In my opinion (I
have seen similar problems in Debian before), the key is in the
dependency from libglu1-mesa-dev to libglu1-mesa. Currently, it
requires exact synchronization between versions (=
6.5.1~20060817-0ubuntu3), but apparently there is
Have the same problem...
xlibmesa-glu-dev package isn't available and libglu-dev, but here is
what I get after running sudo apt-get install libglu-dev in a terminal:
Reading package lists... Done
Building dependency tree
Reading state information... Done
Note, selecting libglu1-mesa-dev
That's OK though, because freeglut3-dev actually depends on xlibmesa-
glu-dev OR libglu-dev (the latter of which is a virtual package provided
by libglu1-mesa-dev).
I suspect you have broken packages on your system, which is making it
hard for apt to resolve this situation. Try 'apt-get -f
I don't have broken dependencies.
apt-get -f install returns successfull without problems.

Look at:

In this page is possible to see (in the dependencies section) that the
package xlibmesa-glu-dev is not available.
Thanks !

What is the output of apt-cache policy xlibmesa-gl-dev and also apt-

(applications - accessories - terminal)
Do you have any unofficial repositories enabled?

Works for me however this could be an upgrade issue, It requires
xlibmesa-gl-dev rather than xlibmesa-glu-dev though. Can you run apt-get
update and try again?
