option to change this behavior. You can then get a meaningful
backtrace from your debugger if you break on the gdk_x_error() function.)
See if that gives a better error that can help us more, Please remove any

Firefox doesn't start under gutsy, too.
The following error happens most of time:
The program 'firefox-bin' received an X Window System error.
This probably reflects a bug in the program.
The error was 'BadWindow (invalid Window parameter)'.
(Details: serial 1324 error_code 3 request_code 20
Closing due to user doesnt use Ubuntu any longer so cant get anymore

No idea, I am not running Ubunutu any longer. I am now on Debian and I
haven't got a problem with firefox.

What ubuntu version are you running? Find this by issuing 'dpkg -l
mozilla-browser|grep ^ii' (without the quotes) at a command prompt. If
that fails, try 'dpkg -l mozilla-firefox|grep ^ii' and post the output
here.

I presume that -l actually means -I (for Info). The output is the same for
mozilla-browser, mozilla-firefox and firefox:

After reading the man pages for dpkg, I realize that the -l option does
exist, it was simply the grep that didn't find anything. Here is the

I've got 1.7.12-1.1ubuntu2 for mozilla-browser here. You don't seem to
have that installed. Please 'sudo apt-get update sudo apt-get install
mozilla-browser' and tell us if that fixes it?
