Ok, I think I found out what happens. This is a duplicate of
http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=572802, which reports
this problem for Debian, it is fixed in the 2.2-release which is
currently included for the next version of Ubuntu, Maverik.

It works for me if I install the spanish locale.
Can you post the output of the following command entered in a terminal:
locale -a
If es_ES.utf8 is not listed, you can try to create the spanish locale
with the following command:
sudo locale-gen es_ES.utf8
withj this step tellico was displayed
