I've reported a bug about outdated and buggy PlayOnLinux packages in official
Ubuntu repositories, see bug #699765
Could you see if PlayOnLinux installer hanging problem is fixed in latest
PlayOnLinux version (3.8.8) and write a comment at bug #699765 if problem is
fixed?

Which playonlinux version are you using? PlayonLinux in official Ubuntu
repositories is outdated and buggy, you should use latest version from
official repository, see http://www.playonlinux.com/en/download.html

Bugs, which
as a workaround, after clicking forward. run the command {killall
python} from terminal. this will closes the main window and the
installer will starts smoothly.
i wish the bug is fixed soon :)
