start alsamixer in a terminal with this command: alsamixer -D hw:Intel

I also have this computer, I can confirm that it has an internal mic. (I
rebooted it under windows to test it!).

Hmm. Excuse me if this is a dump question...but do you have a front mic
at all? Your BIOS says that you haven't, and looking on google for specs
on EEETop 1602, none lists internal mic on the specifications.

The question is not dump at all, for what i know the mic should be there, i see
a little hole just near the webcam, and the logic would suggest that for a flat
screen pc with built-in webcam a front mic would be a obvious choice.
