I had been trying unity -reset so I tried unity --reset. It hasn't
affected the bug which still occurs, but then there seem to be things
missing and it segfaulted:

@RichardN: just to check, did you try "unity --reset" (with two hyphens)
or just "unity -reset" (with one hyphen)? The latter probably won't do
anything.
Before trying "unity --reset", I notice that there is an --advanced-
debug option, so you could try running "unity --advanced-debug
--replace"
I've got it happening at the moment. "unity -reset" has no effect on
this bug as far as I can see.

Yes, I have a dual monitor setup, 64 bit, all updates applied.
It happens to me only with Firefox. Creating it is quite simple. Open
Firefox, un-maximise with the top left button with the square icon.
Minimise it with the button with the line icon. Then hit the firefox

Thanks for the bug report. RichardN are you also using a multimontor
setup where the problem is happened? Could you please try to reproduce
the problem a few times and come up with a few steps to reproduce this
problem so we could get it fixed in Ubuntu.

I have this bug and unity -reset did not get rid of it for me. It does
seem to be intermittent though so there may be some setting that affects
it.

It must have been a configuration setting, but I don't know which one.
After "unity --reset" I'm not seeing it any more.

Actually those .xsession-errors messages appear when restoring (the
smaller) windows that don't experience this bug, so they might just be
misleading.

This error from .xsession-errors is probably relevant. It happens when I
restore a window that was previously fullscreen:

OK, this may not be compiz. The same thing happens in unity-2d, except
that unity-2d recovers from the window being drawn behind the launcher
(it immediately remaps it to next to the launcher).
So which package is common to unity-3d and unity-2d and is likely to be
causing this problem?

This bug is back with a vengeance in compiz

It seems to be related to the size of the non-maximized window: small
windows are restored correctly, but windows near to the size of my

The update to compiz 1:0.9.6-0ubuntu1 has stopped one aspect of this
from happening: when you minimize a full-screen window, it no longer
redisplays at 0,0.
However, the bug is still present. It seems to switch between

After logging back in again, Thunderbird is re-exhibiting the issue, but
with a twist: if it is maximized and I press the un-maximize button, it
no longer has a titlebar. Could the problem be in unity-window-
decorator?
