here:
http://askubuntu.com/questions/63999/how-can-i-install-typing-break/64004#64004
As also described there, a good alternative is workrave.
But workrave also needs better integration with whatever the bloody
I've been using Gnome Shell Pomodoro and it works well. There's package
for it so you get just apt-get it. http://gnomepomodoro.org/

how can I disable the notifications, I just want the typing break to
appear, without warnings. Another question. Is there a way to have it
in the indicator, as the 2.x version was (with a green/red icon).
Thanks a lot in advance

Hi, you should file a bug upstream about that as it is a wishlist:
https://bugzilla.gnome.org/browse.cgi?product=drwright
You should also try drwright with gnome 3 (gnome shell), because the
current developer is mainly concentrated on gnome 3.x

I get multiple break notifications piling up but staying hidden under Unity,
using the ppa version.
Nevertheless, would be great to get this in Ubuntu (again).

If you have a patch to fix it, I'd gladly integrate it.

PPA at: https://launchpad.net/~drwright/+archive/stable
Currently waiting for packages to be built (could take hours so.. check back
tomorrow):
https://launchpad.net/~drwright/+archive/stable/+build/2996305
Patched for unity and set default to disabled.
After you install it, log out / log in.
my idea is to convert drwright rpm (at
http://pkgs.org/download/drwright) to deb. For example, my way was:
sudo apt-get install alien
sudo alien -c drwright-3.2.2-1.fc17.i686.rpm
sudo dpkg -i drwright_3.2.2-2_i386.deb
Once you install it, typing breaks are configurable via the System
Settings
Its not working for me. Any other idea please.

Bump. For me typing break is indispensable. I have it in Gnome 2.x,
but it is gone for 3.x.
