I have tested at least 5-6 cards.
The one that i am now using for tests is an old Nokia 1GB microSD card using an
adapter.
Here are the card info:

lamprakis, thank you for testing the latest mainline kernel. Did you
attempt to blacklist the drivers tifm_7xx1 and sdhci individually (not
at the same time) and see if this changes anything?
One may add a blacklist by executing the following in a terminal:
gksudo gedit

I now blacklisted the drivers on kernel v3.13-rc5.
when blacklisting sdhci i get:

lamprakis, thank you for providing the results of the blacklist. Could
you please provide the full specification of the card/one of the cards
you are testing (ex. MFG, model, serial #, etc.)?
