Can I please get the valgrind trace? Run this and attach the

Please run this command (you will need to install strace and valgrind packages
first):
sudo strace /usr/lib/vlc/vlc-cache-gen -f /usr/lib/vlc/plugins/
And also this:
sudo valgrind /usr/lib/vlc/vlc-cache-gen -f /usr/lib/vlc/plugins/
And then

All of a sudden, my vlc installation stopped working and I'm unable to
figure out what changed - I've been receiving "Bus error" notices.
I've tried removing/reinstalling vlc, and the installation hangs up at
configuring vlc-nox
