Same on my x61s. Worked great on older distros since 10.04, after
upgrade to 12.04 same behaviour as #6. Kernel is 3.2.0-24-generic

I can also confirm the same behaviour on my x61s. After resuming from
suspend, mouse pointer can be seen on the sceen and can be moved around.
But the rest of the screen is blank. Have to resort to switch to console
to reboot the laptop to get out of the screen hanging.

I have similar behavior as #6 (latest version as of today).
I can see the cursor, clicking here and there turns the cursor into the round
"loading"-cursor etc, but otherwise black.
I can switch to a console without problems.

Thank you for taking the time to file a bug report on this issue.
However, given the number of bugs that the Kernel Team receives during
any development cycle it is impossible for us to review them all.
Therefore, we occasionally resort to using automated bots to request
further testing. This is s
ok, it's still present in 3.2.0.20.22, but intermittent. sometimes it
resumes ok; sometimes the display is blank; sometimes the display is
powered up and showing an X mouse pointer but otherwise blank, and it
does not respond to keyboard or mouse input. I'll try to localize the
problem.
