I suggest to enter a new bug by running the command «ubuntu-bug linux», because this one is really invalid. The reason here were a lot of LVM snapshots which take a long time to set up. I'd still be curious whether there is an easy way to debug the initramfs scripts. -- You received this bug

This has to do with the USB mouse. If the mouse is not plugged in, the boot time is much shorter. The hang does not only happen during boot. It happens any time when a USB key or mouse is plugged in. It takes about a minute for the device to be ready. I run into this problem on Xubuntu oneiric

The usb mouse is disconnected unusually, but it is not the cause of the slow boot. The slow boot should be caused by slow XFS mounting, see blow: [2.523331] hub 1-1.4:1.0: 2 ports detected [ 58.904178] usb 1-1.2: USB disconnect, device number 4 [ 60.382105] usb 1-1.2: new low-speed USB

I'm experimenting with LVM snapshots, which makes the initial LVM scan (command «vgchange -a y») take a long time. But I thought that would happen later in the boot process. Is there an easy way to debug the initramfs processing? -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of
