I also experience similar sound problems on Ubuntu 12.04. In my case, it
seems like there are random sound glitches (e.g. every 5 to 10 minutes)
during the playback of any audio. It happens in Audacious (audio player)
as well as in SMplayer (video player) or also in Google Chrome when
playing

Hi,
I am neither a pro, nor know computers very well. I am using Ubuntu 12.04 on
T60 fresh install and had the same sound issue. It was not present in 10.04. I,
by chance, open alsamixer and changed s/pdif p setting to ADC from PCM
and this problem was gone. I hope if this helps other people

I am sorry for my last comment , #5; On further usage of my system, I found
that if the audio/video is playing and I move the cursor, problem gets severe,
not only the sound is not clear/smooth also its playback gets slower in speed
in some cases. And there is also no change in sound for

I have the same problem on a fresh install on a Lenovo T60 laptop. I am
also using Windows 7 in Virtualbox. The problem is definitely worse at
