Screenshot showing the transparent pidgin window when tiled with the
effect of pressing Super+W. More information on this on the previous
comment I made.

Starting Pidgin for the first time after logging in 12.04 (i had this
issue on 11.10 as well), I can see the icon but the pidgin window does
not show up. My work around is to close pidgin on that icon in launcher
and start pidgin again and press Super+W. That shows tiled view of all
my application

steps to trigger it would help though

Have the same problem
I can surcomvent it, if i start Pidgin as the first application after
startup. If i start Chrome first, the icon appears in the launcher but i
can not get the program visible.
