Don't use console-data any more; instead, use 'dpkg-reconfigure console-
setup'. I've updated Edgy's installation-guide package for this.

The files previously posted are from edgy beta and not knot 3. With
beta, the desktop cd still starts up in 1024x768. However, even without
the F4 VGA option, the splash screen is _not_ corrupted. So there's
progress, I suppose. The splash screen is shown in 1024x768 (I believe).

I agree to Daniel here, there's no need to artificially prolong the
waiting time; if the dialog disappears so fast that the user cannot read
it, there's nothing for him to worry about anyway. However, it does look
confusing.
I have a rough idea about how to make it only appear if writing back the
technically this is true, freeware is software that is no cost. But it
implies to most people that it is proprietary freeware. And not free
software, or open source. The program is GPLv2 seems like it
would confuse people to call it freeware. o well;

Unfortunately, there is no open source driver currently available for
this camera. There is at least one project[1] underway to implement a
driver. They seem quite active, but they are still in the very early
stages. You might consider contributing your input to their project.

The upstream bug claims that this bug is fixed and I can not reproduce
it anymore in edgy, so can this bug be closed or do we need a fix for
dapper?

Is this still a problem with the latest firefox in dapper? Version
1.5.dfsg+1.5.0.7-ubuntu0.6.06 in dapper is latest.
