sudo mv sh sh.original
sudo ln -s /bin/bash /bin/sh
And then try to use gnome-power-manager to change the brightness.
I found that the scripts in hal uses let that is not implemented in
dash.

I don't think that the hardware was the source of the problem, since
I've installed the final iso with the same cdrw and the same cd drive.

Running 'lspci' shows that the second graphics card is being missed

Several bugs like this have been cropping up with mythtv-database the
upgrade to edgy. During the upgrade process, mysql is momentarily
stopped for the upgrade.

With the MP3 fluendo plugin, playing MP3 gives you very poor quality. If
the music has some bass sounds and you have good speakers, it's in fact
nearly not listenable.

After installing edgy on my Lenovo T60, I can't switch to any of the six
consoles (Ctrl-Alt-F{1-6]). I just get a blurry (fglrx) or black (vesa) screen.
Switchting back to F7 works.

I had similar problems, after running apt-get -f install seems to fixed
most problems. You might want to try using aptitude, this seems to have
worked with the hpijs package.

I'm having the same problem with my three (3) reiserfs partitions. 6-7
second stall on every boot. Runs fsck.reiserfs for every partition on
every boot.

At this point i'm blaming this on mysql-server not running during the upgrade.
It seems that mythtv-database is getting configured before mysql server is, and
thus mysql server isn't started until later.
If you haven't already upgraded, can you do me a favor and upgrade
mysql-server

This is the information when I try to upgrade a package, seems that upstart
chokes on setting this up. I can not remove, or install a new package, with
