Ok. I did check the CD, and it failed zero checksums. Also, the DVD drive is rather new, and I have never had problems with it. I was using a couple of programs (Firefox and Gaim) at the same time as the installation; when I tried again (after restarting) without using anything (the two programs were still running since I had been using them), it finished without errors.
