I just tried suspend and had a very scary thing happen.
I noticed an error message in dmesg,
ACPI-0412: *** Error: Handler for [EmbeddedControl] returned AE_TIME
So I did some Internet research and found this to fix.
Added,
noapictimer ec_burst=1
to the kernel line in /boot/grub/menu.lst.
Thanks for the bug report. Is this still a problem in Dapper or Edgy?

We're slowly making progress... right now we can use the webcam to take
shoots! :-)
Hopefully the source will be in an 'interesting' state in a few months
and then included into the kernel tree.
Keep in touch.

On my laptop getting out of sleep requires me to close the lid and open
it again. I think I might also be able to pull it out of sleep by
tapping keys.
Is this still a problem in Dapper or Edgy?

Does this still occur with either Dapper or Edgy?

This does seem to be related to bug 44274. Most likely a fix in that
bug would fix this one too. I'm marking it as a duplicate.
