[Bug 60897] Re: [Edgy] Desktop CD stalls/hangs when Install to Disk is double-clicked
I tried a Edgy Live instal tonight and it started properly (I didn't complete the installation since I didn't want to reinstall my OS tonight). So going from 256mb to 768mb of ram on this laptop solved the problem in Edgy that I had with both the Live Installer and Firefox. So in my case all signs seem to point toward the fact that 256mb of ram is not enough to have a LiveCD session that works correctly and let you install from it. -- [Edgy] Desktop CD stalls/hangs when Install to Disk is double-clicked https://launchpad.net/bugs/60897 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 51081] Re: rt2500 card not getting dhcp lease
Same problem here (Edgy). The network manager sets the essid fine, however aquiring a dhcp-lease fails. If you use dhclient afterwards everything works fine. I have a rt2500 based card myself, and it doesn't play too well with NetworkManager yet. Have you tried connecting to a network without encryption? [Bug 80214] firefox add-on to prepend search engine queries
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: firefox this is a feature request. if this is the wrong forum for feature request, please point me to the correct one. Google and the other search engines seem to be 'Google-bombed' more and more by Microsoft.com sites. This is 1) getting in the way of finding real information, 2) many of these are either irrelevant to firefox and ubuntu users, 3) most of the real, otherwise valuable information is blocked for ff and ubuntu users. #3 there is the biggest waste of time, because usually that info can be found elsewhere but much time is wasted running into the MS dead end. [Bug 80222] xine-lib does not support ogg theora video
Public bug reported: The edgy version does not seem to come with ogg theora video compiled in it. How to reproduce: Try to open a ogg video (for example the mandela video in /usr/share/example-content) with totem-xine. How to fix: Compile xine-lib with libtheora-dev and you will now be able to watch ogg video with xine. IMPORTANT: Gxine will also need to be recompiled. Xine-lib will only fix totem-xine. I'd rather not open another bug for gxine as these are closely related. ** Affects: xine-lib (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: Unconfirmed -- xine-lib does not support ogg theora video https://launchpad.net/bugs/80222 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 65926] Re: assertion failure on start-up
I can confirm this on up to date edgy at least if i start OO under KDE even with running gnome-settings-daemon. In addition to this fonts in OO look very ugly, like dpi is detected wrong. I use 96 dpi setting in xorg.conf, kde and gnome and mostly Arial. It works nice everywere except in OO. I can set OO to use system fonts or not, both look very ugly. I will write a second report for this using subject OpenOffice font rendering bad -- assertion failure on start-up https://launchpad.net/bugs/65926 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
