I have the same problem as described by Alvin. I encountered this Unknown
error forking main binary / abnormal early exit in edgy after having installed
fglrx drivers for my radeon x300se. But even after the upgrade to fiesty, the
problem remains. If I change to ati drivers (which are

up-to-date, so I guess I'm running Herd 4?).
Here's how I can reproduce it:
- Open Konsole
- #kdesu kate
- Enter password
- Immediately after Kate opened, close it (click on close-icon in upper-right
corner)
- #kdesu kate
Forgot to mention, that this causes incredible confusion when trying to
open administrator mode in KDE's system settings - the frame turns red
and nothing happens.

I think so. Hibernation won't work, since there needs to be a swap
partition to get it working, and I'm not sure if the livecd is set up to
use a pre-existing partition. The sleep should work fine though, I
think. Let us know how that test with sleep works out on feisty if you
get the chance.

I have the 1.0GB version of this device. It actually has 2 partitions
on it, one is a 5MB CDFS partition, the second is 973MB FAT. (According
to Win XP). So looks like everything is working exactly as it should.
(When I attach this device in Windows, I get a removable drive and CD-
ROM appear).
I'm sorry your laptop got stolen! Let us know if you ever see this
problem again, though, and continue reporting bugs so they can get
fixed.

Update-manager broke after latest update for Feisty 7.04 , 26th Feb.
Have tried reinstalling but is still broke.
Several people have noticed this on the Ubuntu forums.

euhm i dont have any steps to reproduce however it did happen in the
same session as when i installed my printer and I think the printer
doesnt have the right driver and probably it gave a wrong command.

[apport] apt-check crashed with
I can confirm this on edgy too, having just downloaded the .deb and
pulling out that file. The broken file is in kcontrol-
autostart_0.1-0ubuntu2_i386.deb, located at
/usr/share/applications/kde/autostart.desktop
Hopefully the next release of this package will have the fix in it.
