Hi,
On previous versions of Ubuntu, I've been able to use the key
combinations Ctrl-right-arrow and Ctrl-left-arrow to move the cursor
to the next and previous words, respectively in Vim (much as I am doing
now in this browser text box). On Feisty,
I can confirm this behaviour when booting the feisty-desktop-i386.iso of
Herd 5, altough the bootmessages are different on my system (see
attachment). Specs:
- ASUS P5W DH Deluxe Mainboard
- Intel Core 2 Duo E6600 CPU
This motherboard contains a jMicron chip for IDE devices. I've seen some
erm, could it just be that the sin() module/component is missing from
your C library.
What C/C++/C# compiler are you using, and what version please.

I just tried to boot from harddisk with the 3 options:
noapic nolapic irqpoll
At first view, I don't see any difference with booting with only the
irqpoll option.
In fact, in both cases, there are no disk icons on the desktop; nor is
there a trash icon on the panel. (May this is due to the
b/i/r in prevu

Downgrade the bluez-utils package to a previous version (ie the edgy's),
then upgrade it and during the installation choose yes when you will
be asked to install the new script in /etc/init.d/bluetooth. This will

1. That's right, nvidia-glx is installed on my system and so the nv driver
can't initialize GLX.
2. Ditto, see above.
3. This may be a symptom of the above too, so I don't know.
In light of this, I'm running the benchmarks again, this time
AFAIK it's fixed in gauvain's branch and the issue will be resolved as
soon as version 0.25 of the package is uploaded (which has not happened
so far).

I noticed it doesn't happen only for selection. The attached screenshot
shows it occurring on the tab bar, which means it affects chrome too.
I use tabbrowser extensions to move the tabs on the bottom and select
them on hover, so I'm not sure if this particular thing appears with

Hi,
I upgraded to Feisty yesterday (dist-upgrade from edgy) and I've got to say
this does look promising; I've run google earth a few times, and blender and a
few other things and it's survived. However I did have days where it has
worked previously; so it's a matter of giving it a little
O, of course is it impossible to post a log if /var isn't mounted. But I didn't
know because the only thing I knew was that only / was mounted.
Dis you mention all of the partitions that have to be mounted?
But isn't it impossible to run fsck(and almost every other program) if /usr
isn't
I forgot /sbin
fsck is located in /sbin, so it should be possible to run fsck without error
messages I suppose.
I've got a lot to learn.

Can't install Gnomesword. I remove all other instances of libsword but
still no joy.
Synaptic returns this error:
gnomesword:
Depends: libsword5c2a (=1.5.8-7) but it is not installable

Tried the same Athlon XP-M 2400+ with Feisty - 3 March snapshot and also
with this is detected as 1472-3 Mhz, see syslog attached, please fix
this if possible.

I'm pretty sure it was dealing with the xfce but it's a pretty bad
security issue. 2 people logged into the same computer, 1 logs out and
automatically logs in to the other user bypassing the password.
I've scrapped the old system and did a clean install and no longer have
xfce running so I
and still here with herd cd 5
no fix for Feisty?

When I try to preview files in progress I get xterm: Can't execvp
mplayer: No such file or directory because aMule starts files with
mplayer by default whicht is not installed. I searched the
configurations menu several times but could not find the
