About the SimpleSamba spec. The major technical problem would be that it is not
possible (to the extend of my knowledge) to synchronise already set user

AFAIK, the extra -- indicates that start-stop-daemon should pass the
remaining arguments to ifup/ifdown, rather than trying to process them
itself. The start-stop-daemon(8) manpage says as much.

BTW, what happens when if you disable NetworkManager and try to connect
manually by CLI?
To be clear for others reading this thread, we're really talking about 3
bad behaviours that may be 3+ bugs in different processes:
1) Ubuntu defaults to have conflicting drivers (hostap, orinoco) for prism

I was installing pysol through sudo aptitude install pysol. AFAIK doing a
sudo aptitude install should have installed the pysol game, the sounds as well
as the cardsets but none of them were installed. Now is it something to do
