throughput on wireless (100Kb/s versus 200Kb/s) even when only 30 cm

I have a similar laptop with a Turion64 X2. I think that the problem is
not with powernowd, but with the smp kernel. I read on the forums that

The pkill command is issued not to *restart* acpid, but to make it
reload its configuration or something. Everything else still holds.

The problem is that i don't do this! I always close firefox before
shutting down the system. The only thing I see that might be causing it
is closing all the tabs at once, clicking on the x cross on the title
bar of firefox. But I have always done this since i started to use
firefox a long time

not able to resize it, minimize it or close it by the buttons in the top right
corner when using Compiz.
