As I currently run Gutsy my Gnome and Xfce DE are getting unstable at
times. When they are unusable, I fall back to ION3 as my WM. ION3 uses
different approach in dealing with windows and makes every application
window open in full width and height. After using Piding in ION3

It may be a RAM problem, and so not an ubuntu/python bug.
It appears that maybe python malloc function buggs when memory allocation try
to allocate on a broken RAM address.
I had sometimes the same problem on an installed ubuntu when launching

I just found out that the problem does *NOT* appear with konsole.
Checking a bit deeper, it uses TERM=linux - setting TERM=xterm here
breaks a few things again. The other way round (setting TERM=linux in a
xterm session) is not helpful at all. Side-effect of TERM=linux is that
you lose mouse

The main problem here is that the mouse protocol ImPS/2 is always selected by
default in Ubuntu/Debian while your mouse and other mice need the
ExplorerPS/2 protocol to make the extra buttons work.
The ButtonMapping needed to make this work in FireFox is not a bug. But the

- Export all the messages (after deleting duplicates) to a mbox format and
import them.
- For each folder, open folder, highlight all the messages and choose Save

Because the used USB ID is only used for OEM products. These have been
sold widely in germany too by ISPs. The patch works fine, just AVM did
not offically release drivers for it. SuSE always patched it. The only
diff to the original patch is that I would always use a lowercase module
name - they
Dapper (Ubuntu LTS) would benefit from this as well. Rationale: BackupPC
is server-based, and Dapper LTS is what a lot of run on our servers.
Having BackupPC in Dapper means we get the goodness of BackupPC 3.0
without moving away from LTS.

I have an Orinoco Gold card that is also affected by the lack of the
orinoco_cs. It is produced by Lucent Technologies, and so is not
supported by hostap. While hostap may be the better choice for some
Prism chipsets, removing orinoco_cs clearly breaks things for a lot of
others.

One more vote for the old style.
If Gnome won't make the old-style a preference that Ubuntu can set by
default, then perhaps a fork is justified.
Either way, do NOT add deskbar by default if it will be using this new
style, it ruins the desktop experience.

If hibernating a machine with an USB storage device attached and
mounted, and then accidentally or otherwise disconnecting the storage
device, there is an announcement about that after starting the machine
up again. There is also a warning about possible data loss.
