I ran into the exact same experience this morning when I received the
kernel update to 2.6.22-12-generic. I also have an HDA Intel sound card
(my card is presented as Realtek High Definition Audio in Windows
Vista) but ALSA mixer usually says card=hda intel and chipset=realtek
ALC268.

with the Dell D3000. I rectified the problem by avoiding KDE envirorment
installation. Something about it seemed to gum up the works, being that gnome
is defaulted to 2 panels and KDE messes with it and gives four.

gnome is defaulted to 2 desktops and KDE gives four. I rectified the problem by
removing KDE desktop.

In latest gutsy as of 22 sept 2007:
1. Start some song in xmms
2. Start some other song in Totem
3. No sound is heard from the Totem player
My sound card is presented in Vista as Realtek High Definition Audio.
When I run alsamixer it says card=HDA Intel chipset=Realtek

instructions for creating .torrent files.
In section 2), arguments are in the wrong order. The syntax should be

I assume this was because some dependent package was not available.

Intel ipw3945 chipset, running the 2.6.22-12-generic kernel.) Since that
time I can not switch to a different free WLAN. The first free
(unencrypted) WLAN chosen by system stays active, no chance to
