Same problem here (T23 with SuperSavage IX/C SDR) - I'm able to recover
by closing and re-opening the lid again after resume - seems to be just
an issue with screen switching. I also recognize that Fn-F7 does not
work with Gutsy while it worked with Feisty. In Feisty I sometimes had
to press Fn-F7
I just had similar problem on two machines upgraded from Feisty to
Gutsy. A friend of mine has a DVD-Video with UDF structure on it, burned
in some kind of cheap desktop recorder. Gutsy is able to mount this
disk, but the permissions are se to "r--r--r--" and owner/group are set
to "-1", so only ro

I had the same problem.
I noticed that crash appear when the upgrate tool try to configure perl package
after unpacking.
IMHO the problem is that, in this particular situation, the installed
libraries and the running perl doesn't match, causing the stack
corruption.

still present. When Ubuntu starts ,or when I launch an application like
Firefox or OpenOffice, the hard drive start working an clicking pretty
hard. As always, under Vista the hard disk is very silent instead.

Using kernel 2.6.22-14 with kernel parameter acpi=off solved the boot
issue for me. For wifi support I need to pass noapic as well to the
kernel. With this configuration I don't experience any system freezes
anymore.
