I have a 1.83 GHz T2400 Core Duo with 2GB in my Inspiron 9400. I do a
lot of math intensive simulation that run for hours. I was running
Windows and hit the memory limitation (could only access 1 GB for the
application) so switched to Ubuntu. In Ubuntu, the application could
access 1.7 GB, but
mine does not altogether crash the system, but I have choppy audio and
the visualization shows only a black screen... I use an Nvidea GeForce
5500 graphics card, I have the desktop visual effects set to none, and I
have a compatible driver enabled (though it is a generic driver, it runs

Actually, multicast works perfectly until astromech or other laptop gets
disconnected and reconnects later to the network under certain
