I use ADSL via external wireless router which work as DHCP-server.
My errors was gone after following changes:
1) I removed link-local 169.254.0.0 from /etc/networks file. (I use DHCP so
probably I dont need it).

A new upstream release 2.5.0.4-1ubuntu3~gutsy1 which fixes crash
problems can be installed in Linux Ubuntu Gutsy with backports
repositories enabled. Can you install that release and confirm if you
can still reproduce that bug?

OK - got this figured. blush
It looks like I had used the customisation interface within emacs to
turn the desktop-save mode on as well, but I also had it in my init.el
file.
by removing it from the init file that fixed my problems.
