in deb form. gdebi reports it as older version so I did dpkg -i

I still wonder if its Ubuntu -Linux in general - is the cause of this
problem.On my laptop , after removing unwanted apps Windows parks heads

The setxkbmap command didn't fix this for me, on the contrary, it caused
some letters, such as h, to stop working. (I tried running xkbmap
-model pc105 -layout fi -variant fi).
Alt-gr + key works for me, but on a Finnish keyboard the alt-gr key
isn't used to type diacritics, so I'm not sure if

I've listed it as invalid on nvidia-glx-new, since it most definitely
isn't a problem with the nvidia driver. I've experienced it on both
nvidia and ati systems(using both the free and proprietary ati drivers

The problem was in relation to libsmbios. The BIOS of my laptop computer
is secured with a password, therefore libsmbios and hal couldn't set the
brightness. Removing the password solves this problem.
