Well, the main reason is that bash and bash-completion are separate
projects. I think only Debian (and hence Ubuntu) included the
bash_completion script directly in the bash package. And another thing
is that bash_completion is essentially unmaintained upstream. So
splitting the packages makes perf

This is still happening on my Gutsy release. I had to remove the file
in /var/lib/apt/lists/partial, and the update worked. I'm running apt

As a side note, while Félix Velasco is correct that there was a bug in
pkgsel, it was purely cosmetic; all it did was produce a confusing log

the complaint was flash and gnash dont work but it could be beccause hes not
using Ubuntu's version of gnash/flash hes using debians.

This seems to be in part due to interaction with pulseaudio. Orca is
still silent when manually starting it unless pulseaudio is not running.
Note that it has no problems running with pulseaudio in a full desktop
environment.

We've tried this both ways round, and the other way seemed to be harder
for more people, so to be honest I think we're better off this way;

I have removed it with and without --purge option and it didn't helped...
also removed libcurl3 the same way...
--purge didn't removed the "/home/pipboy/.streamtuner" directory

Today gdm prefetchlist update removed the weird sound but trying to set
automatic login on System > Admin > Initial Session Window makes gdm
crash and re-login.
