I have more news on this bug. It is possibly a bug with Hardy in general
and not with squid specifically.
I turned off squid and apache and let the machine just run (doing almost
nothing). The cache did not appear to grow much at all, definitely not
at the predictable rate it did when squid was

Same problem here, on my laptop AND desktop. Whether i'm using
PulseAudio streaming to another network computer or even when im just
playing it locally the problem still occurs, it sounds awful :(

I found the problem. I was using my usb sound card ever since I started
using ubuntu because the pcm was not working on my pci sound card (I was
used to using the pcm output on windows). I finally tried plugging my
mini plug output from my pci card to my amp. After that I heard sound
in flash.

It runs the same from displayconfig as from the KDE menu i.e., no errors,
warnings, logs, or other output. Will let you know if it stays set any
longer.

Since a few days ago my brightness hotkeys don't work anymore. This has
worked in gutsy and in hardy until very shortly.
I'm running current hardy on a Samsung Q45.
This is a very big problem since when running on battery, the brightness
is set to the lowest level on boot
