MmmI just noticed one thing:
It seems that the Xorg cpu usage became high only when system monitor
is open.
when I close it, Xorg cpu usage returns low:

When I run Xubuntu (dapper, gutsy) under kvm, and start their terminal
emulator, the guest X server crashes. Every time.

I'd like to remind you once again that Xen worked fine on this same
hardware with Fedora 8 (with X.org too, of course). Maybe comparing the
drivers in them can shed some light.

The CD/DVD drive is not detected when booting from the installed system.
I thought it might be related to the initramfs, i.e. that the initramfs
on the installer cd includes modules that are not included when the
initramfs for the installed system is generated. I would like to check

Computer hangs up (freeze) and reports SATA errors during

I see the same problem using Gutsy 7.10 on an MSI MB with ICH9R and two
Seagate Barracuda SATA drives. I first installed XP on the fresh drives
setup as RAID1. Then I attempted to install kubuntu. Dmraid was able to
activate the volume fine and I added an extended partition and logical
partitions
