I can confirm this bug. If you use aclocal or autoreconf and
libsoundtouch1-dev is installed, you get this warning. The bug is fixed
in upstream version 1.3.1.
TEST CASE: run touch configure.ac aclocal in an empty directory.

I am seeing this as well after an upgrade to 8.04 in OpenOffice when
select Open (a file):

I'm not surprised that there is no [EMAIL PROTECTED] mode. I don't see where
that mode would come from.
There is a default mode for [EMAIL PROTECTED] in the Ubuntu supplement to

I am having the same problems with a Hawking HPS1U print server with my
Samsung ML-1430. My 7.10 machines print without problem but my two 8.04
computers fail to print (although they printed perfectly before
upgrade). I see Mr. Wick's work around however I am unable understand
how to apply this

Ah, I think I might see where the problem is...
Can you try, from a command line, running gksudo synaptic (rather than
sudo synaptic). Gksudo is the GNOME dialog to give you sudo access--if
something is wrong with that, then that will block any program that
attempts to bring up that password
I've also confirmed that the error occurs regardless of whether I'm
authenticating using ssh keys or password authentication.

I think this is getting needlessly confrontational.
What I mean about the filename restrictions is that people buy drives
formatted as FAT, for all systems. So presumably they are running up
against any filename restrictions regularly, both on Linux and Windows

The proposed update works on 8.04 x86_64, but I had to add the users to
the vboxusers group manually. If that's the normal behavior, it's OK.

Please, don't add unneeded comments to launchpad BTS - if you need my
xorg.conf just tell this, attaching my xorg.conf will not change anything,
as my xorg.conf is identifical to other Ubuntu 8.04 systems - have you
noticed, that since Ubuntu 7.10 all monitor settings are detected

fixes the boot problem : the brightness of my LCD is maximal during the boot
