I have to echo Dave Millers comments. There have been a lot of kernel
updates recently and it seems rather Windowsy to force everyone to
reboot just for some boot time saving. In future it might be worth

Bug also exists in Hardy. The Ctrl-Alt-Enter + Ctrl-Alt-Left/Right
trick doesn't work; sometimes it'll change the desktop on the local
machine, but it will still take me back to the remote machine.

Some of my observations, don't know if helpful:
I found, that i get the locking error on some (not all) files on a NFS-mounted
directory.
So i copied that folder to a local disc. Now some files are ok, some other
files still
have the error. When i copy and past the file (with nautilus) the

I spent the evening confirming that the 2.6.25 coretemp.c will indeed
work in 2.6.24 with a single minor code change. I built a new 2.6.24
coretemp.ko and I can read the thermal sensors without issue now. I have
solved the problem for me, but it doesn't fix the larger issue of lack
of 45nm sensor

No problem, I am closing this bug. There is no xorg.conf reconfigure
during upgrade since it could mess things up for some people. The i810
driver was still shipped for compatibility reasons but will be removed
in next Ubuntu release Intrepid.

OK - I tried again - as I was able to reset the screen so it flickers again.
Problem - as soon as I attach gdb from the Command-line on the same machine -
the X-Server becomes unresponsive.
If I do it from a remote machine through ssh - using the keeptty and dumbSched
options, the X-Server
i need help with this issue
