I'm also experiencing the same problem having just upgraded to Meld
1.1.5.1 (Hardy) from 1.1.4 (Feisty).
This is a serious bug for me as I rely on Meld extensively and need to
trust that it will show me all of the changes. So I have now reverted
back to 1.1.4 and it's working fine again for me.
The bug reporter refuses to send along the dump until I update x11-common,
but as noted earlier, I am deathly afraid to do that at present, as I can't
be off the air for even more days...

That is an interesting point, depending on how the data store is setup it
could be problematic if the directory that Evolution is looking for does not
exists (or is just named differently). I wonder if it would it be possible
