When i am loading the 2.6.24-21-generic kernel and rund hdparm -tT i get

Anyway, what happens here is that the cursor changes to this x-shaped crosshair
when you mouse over the main viewing area.

Mouse disappears when moved over kstars star chart
The current problem with this is that the orig.tar.gz md5sums are
different between Debian and Ubuntu so this can't actually be sync'ed.
I looked into syncing this earlier. I don't think that a fakesync is
worth the effort at this point because the binaries are essentially the

still an issue for me with Hardy (uname -a - Linux pollux
2.6.24-21-generic #1 SMP Sat Jul 26 15:39:24 UTC 2008 i686 GNU/Linux).
OTOH this is obviously not an issue for anyone else than me.

Thanks for your replies. I'm running Ubuntu rather than Kubuntu, and the
GNOME and KDE cursor themes are set independently. Is there a way of
changing the KDE cursor theme without having to install lots of KDE
packages? Changing the GNOME cursor theme has no effect.

I'm curious of exactly how updating a library is intrusive ? Also now
that it is seen that the updated lib does not cause any potential
issues, this is a no brainer to replace one line in the deb control
file.
