This seems to be a problem on my end: redirect-gateway can only work if the
system already has a gateway (as it seems) since the problem also accurs when
using plain openvpn.
Reported behaviour is OK and to be expected.

1. Tested live CD on different machine - every thing works as expected.
2. Put a 3com net card in the problem machine - everything works as

is a ~/.kde4 directory.
Even though both versions can coexist on the same machine and a user can

I can confirm this on my lenovo X200 too. The suspend option does not
appear at all. neither does the suspend key work. sudo pm-suspend does
nothing, and produces no logs in /var/log/pm-suspend. Hibernate works.

I was mistaken - the problem still exists. It is less frequent after a
clean install, but still there.
I have come to believe that this is due to the fact that the tc1100_WMI
driver is missing from Kernel 2.6.24. I'm currently testing 2.6.27,

Hi,
Can I ask why you reported this against consolekit? I'm not sure
why that would be involved in what you suggest above? Is there
a reason that you reported against this package that I am missing?

This is directly caused by having linux-backports-modules-hardy (and
it's dependencies) installed. This is the case out of the Dell factory
image.
The offending module is ieee80211_crypt.
To work around the scenario, you need to follow the following steps:
1) sudo apt-get remove linux-backports
If there are others we have missed, please give the USB ids.
This is not intended to be a "special treatment" list, the argument is
simply that since we give serial devices the dialout group, we should
give USB serial converter devices the same group (and raw access to it,
to program them); and th

If I run OpenVPN from the command line, the default route is redirected
as expected, so the regression has to be in network-manager[-openvpn].

option pushed by the server isn't added to the nameserver list in

I started usb-creator from the Applications menu. Trying to select the .iso I
downloaded to my desktop, I pressed "Other". This opened a navigator window
with a list of Places on the left hand side.

To me it seems like this bug would be fixed if the policy for the scanner was
changed to allow saned to access it explicitly, so that both console users and
the sane service can use the device, is this correct?

There's no reason to be hysterical, but a re-spin of Alpha 6 CDs without
the e1000e module may be called for. This is a separate bug, but the
recommended workaround of adding "blacklist e1000e" in
/etc/modprobe.d/blacklist doesn't work. Somehow, udev or some other
thing manages to load it anyway.
